Collective of Heroes

Some of you might have been wondering about the big banner on the bottom of the Pen and Cape Society web site. If you haven’t, I’ll take a moment and let you scroll down to the bottom of the web site.

Waiting…

Waiting…

And here you are. The banner leads to both the main website of The Collective of Heroes (henceforth CoH) and to the individual websites of its members.

CoH is a group of superhero web comic creators in the same way the Pen and Cape Society (PCS) is a group of superhero fiction writers.

We have a lot in common. For one, we both have names so long that I prefer to abbreviate them. For another, both groups’ members tell stories about superheroes, making them odd birds in their respective fields. Web comics typically didn’t feature superheroes until relatively recently. Similarly, superheroes simply haven’t appeared much in prose at all unless you count movie novelizations.

I’d rather you didn’t.

The upshot of all of this is that CoH and PCS can probably help each other in a lot of ways. Both groups are going to work to find out how.

That means you’re likely to hear about joint projects in the future. Between now and then though, please check out their site and the sites of their members.

About the Author:

Jim Zoetewey writes The Legion of Nothing. Jim grew up in Holland, Michigan, near where L Frank Baum wrote The Wizard of Oz. Admittedly, Baum moved away more than sixty years before Jim was even born, but it’s still kind of cool. He majored in religion and sociology at Hope College, eventually getting a masters in sociology and all but three credits of a masters in Information Systems. He also enjoys running, training in the martial arts, playing bass guitar, and walking his dog. Oh... And for readers who might be his wife, he feels that he should mention that he's fond of her too.
