Local Hero Press at COSine Science Fiction Convention!

The place where the magic happens.

The place where the magic happens.

The entire staff of Local Hero Press (plus an intern!) spent the weekend at COSine Science Fiction Convention in Colorado Springs, pimping our existing books, our upcoming works, and making special mention of the Pen & Cape Society! We had a grand old time with some longtime fans of science fiction and fantasy. We gave away a book in a raffle! We handed out a ton of bookmarks! We saw some very cool fabrication projects and met some great artists as well. If you haven’t been to a Con before, we highly recommend it. LHP will be at several events in 2015. Up next is GalaxyFest over the last weekend of February, also in Colorado Springs. Mark it on your calendars and plan to be there. It’s going to be big. Really big. You won’t want to miss it!

What we learned:

  • There are nerds, and then there are NERDS. And they’re all awesome.
  • Hotel Elegante in Colorado Springs has a really good breakfast and brunch buffet.
  • You can’t get Blonde Roast in the coffee shop, much to their detriment.
  • Everything is awesome.

About the Author:

Ian Thomas Healy is a prolific writer who dabbles in many different speculative genres. He’s a ten-time participant and winner of National Novel Writing Month where he’s tackled such diverse subjects as sentient alien farts, competitive forklift racing, a religion-powered rabbit-themed superhero, cyberpunk mercenaries, cowboy elves, and an unlikely combination of vampires with minor league hockey. His popular superhero fiction series, the Just Cause Universe, is ever-expanding, as is his western fantasy epic The Pariah of Verigo. He is also the creator of the Writing Better Action Through Cinematic Techniques workshop, which helps writers to improve their action scenes.Ian also created the longest-running superhero webcomic done in LEGO, The Adventures of the S-Team, which ran from 2006-2012.When not writing, which is rare, he enjoys watching hockey, reading comic books (and serious books, too), and living in the great state of Colorado, which he shares with his wife, children, house-pets, and approximately five million other people. Check out his exclusive publishing imprint, Local Hero Press.
